Godfrey Gao, a Taiwanese Canadian actor suffered a cardiac arrest when filming a reality show called Chase Me《追我吧》on 27 November 2019 in Ningbo, China. He was known for his lead role in Remembering Lichuan《遇见王沥川》. He became the first-ever Asian’s male model for Louis Vuitton in 2011. It is reported on the Chinese social media Weibo that he started filming at 8:30am on 26 November 2019 until 1:45 am of the next morning which makes up a total of 17 working hours. It is rumored that he was caught with flu at the time of the filming. During the incident, Godfrey Gao was reported to be running on a path. He expressed his tiredness by saying just one sentence “我不行了” before collapsing on the set. The sentence can be translated as “I can’t go on any longer” or “I can’t take it anymore”. He was moved to the ambulance at around 2.30am to be transported to the hospital for resuscitation. The attempt lasted for 3 hours and was not successful. His agency released an official statement announcing the death of the actor at around 12.30 pm. He was 35 at the time of his death. His fans and the world are immensely saddened by the passing of Godfrey Gao.
